New Mine Detection Dog (MDD) Project - Casamance Region of Senegal
August 2015

We are happy to announce that a new contract has just been won with international NGO Handicap International for the provision of an MDD team to support demining operations in the Casamance Region of Senegal in west Africa.

This project mobilises in late August 2015, and following in-country acclimatisation and accreditation testing, the team will be working in the Ziguinchor area as part of a landmine survey capacity.

MDDs ‘Rex’ and ‘Katje’ that have extensive experience of working in Africa in countries including Kenya, South Sudan and Democratic Republic of the Congo will be provided to this contract along with Senior Handler Jonathan Matambo from Zimbabwe.

Explosive Detection Dog (EDD) Re-Stocking
August 2015

We are currently engaged with the procurement and training of ten new dogs to be trained as EDDs.

To date we have two German Shepherd (GSD) puppies (‘Skye’ and ‘Blaze’) plus five trained and three 6-7 month old ‘green’ dogs on kennel with a further GSD puppy on order from a breeder in the Cape Town area.

Five trained dogs are therefore ready to go out now with a further three contract-ready in March 2016. The puppies will be tested & certified by Sep/Oct 2016.

A further two ‘green dogs are to be sourced to create a 10-trained dog capacity on kennel by the end of this year.

Boarding & Pet Management Services
August 2015

Since their inception in November 2014, MKS’ boarding services have proven to be very popular with clients in the Pretoria area.

To date, we have looked after 161 dogs and all have returned to their owners both fit and happy.

Our clients have had this to say:

"I am so Impressed" - Elaine van Aswegen

"I am 100% satisfied" - Corrie Odendaal

At the suggestion of our clients, we are now looking to extend our range of Pet Management services to include a ‘one-stop-shop’ service including the delivery to doorstep of food & other requirements, obedience training, & the arrangement of routine medical checks and inoculations.
